Daniel has marketing in his blood. His grandfather founded a typesetting agency (Riddick Advertising Art) in 1968, which evolved into a well-known Richmond advertising agency, purchased by Daniel’s father in 1984. The agency, Riddick Advertising, later closed in 2011.

In his undergraduate studies (Virginia Tech, Marketing, 2006), Daniel was certain that creativity needed to be present in whatever career he chose. Mixing in his instinctual sense for diplomacy and problem solving made advertising account leadership a natural choice.

In 2008, Daniel graduated from the VCU Brandcenter with a Masters Degree in Creative Brand Management and headed straight to Madison Avenue in New York City.

Daniel began his career with 10+ years of advertising agency management experience at global advertising firms like Saatchi & Saatchi NYC (Pillsbury, Cheerios), Arnold Worldwide NYC (Hershey’s) and in 2015, returned to Richmond as Director of Client Services for Big River Advertising.

After getting married to his wife Susan and having kids (Hudson and Lillie), Daniel left the chaos of advertising life behind and transitioned to his current role of Director of Marketing and Communications at Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods. Daniel focuses on the strategic trajectory of the Ukrop’s brand and leads all marketing and communications efforts for the company.
